Puppy Training Bells
Puppy training bells are an effective training tool for your puppy's housebreaking. This method has gained a great deal of popularity recently because of its convenience and consistent effectiveness. There are multiple puppy training bell products on the market, but they all have the same basic function. Puppy training bells are placed on or near the door that leads to the outside area where you intend your puppy to relieve themselves. Your puppy can be trained to associate these bells with urination or other bodily functions. This is mainly done through the use of positive reinforcement and a period of getting your puppy acclimated with the bells by covering them in a treat.
Puppy training bells are often considered more effective than conventional methods. The busy days of family life sometimes make it difficult to notice the subtle indicators that your puppy needs to relieve themselves. Instead of listening for whining or trying to read your puppy's bodily language, listening for a bell is a lot easier. The ability for a puppy to easily communicate its needs with its owners can be invaluable, making puppy training bells a useful accessory in teaching your puppy to be housebroken. This attributes for why puppy training bells are highly recommended by professional dog trainers.
An effective way in using the training bell is by placing a treat over the hanging bell. Walk your puppy over to the bell and allow your puppy to lick the treat off the bell as you are holding the bell. Slowly let go of the bell while allowing your puppy to continue to lick the bell. As your puppy licks the bell, the bell will make a ringing noise. At this time, you should take hold of the bell to stop your puppy from licking and praise your puppy that he/she did a good job. After that, open the door for your puppy to eliminate. As soon as your puppy is ready to come in, put the bell away until your puppy is ready to eliminate again because your puppy will likely go back to the bell right away for some more treats. Continue to do this process a few times and then stop placing treats on the bell. Soon, your puppy will start heading to the hanging bell by the door when he/she needs to go.
