Foster's Finds

Once Foster and I found this site, we couldn't get enough! First of all, there are SO many cute cute dogs to look at. Secondly, the site is just cool. It's like MySpace, but for dogs.

So if you haven't yet heard about Dogster.com, sign up and make a page for your own dog(s). Visit Foster's Dogster.com Page and add him to your friends list, okay?

I say "Thanks!" and Foster says "Ruff!"

Puppy Training Basics

If you have a new puppy or dog, you know how important it is to train him or her properly. With good training, both you and your pooch will be so much happier together!

Don't forget these few basic rules when training your new dog:

  • Puppies, especially, have short attention spans. Train in short bursts, several times a day. 10 minutes, two or three times each day works well.
  • Reward, reward, reward! Just like people, dogs respond to positive reinforcement. Give lots of praise and treats when your pup does well.
  • Be consistent. Repeating the same training over and over help your dog learn.
  • Be patient. Training takes time, so don't become frustrated if your puppy doesn't pick things up overnight.

New Dog Products

OOH Pet Products has a new product called Pup Cups on the market. These convenient 4-ounce cups carry purified water, so they're perfect for packing in your purse, backpack or pocket for trips to the park, hiking, or road trips. Visit Pupcups.com for more information.

Traveling with Your Dog

Thanks to new legislation, US airlines are now required to submit reports of any pet loss, injuries or deaths during air transport.

With over 40,000 animals flying through the air each month, the new requirements will keep owners informed, while making sure airlines do everything they can to keep your pets safe.

View the Air Travel Consumer Report issued by the Department of Transportation for more information.

Celebrity Dog News

Cutie Patootie movie star Jake Gyllenhaal has a new puggle puppy! Puggles, dogs that are beagle and pug mixes, are one of the newest fads in puppy ownership. Wonder what Jake's dog Atticus thinks of the latest addition?

If you want to see Jake with his new puppy, visit Celebrity Dog Blog for lots of pictures.

Thanks for reading!
Regards,
Jennifer
